Director of Coaching

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Coaching (DoC) leads the development, mentorship, and evaluation of coaches across the Norwin Lacrosse Club (girls and boys). The DoC establishes a consistent, age‑appropriate curriculum and culture that prioritizes player safety, fun, and long‑term development while improving competitive performance.

Note: The DoC focuses on coaching standards and development. Team selection, discipline, and policy decisions remain with the Board and Commissioners, with DoC input.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all coaches.
  2. Head all coaches recruitment efforts and coordinate with the Pres. and BOD.
  3. Recommend all coaching requirements/training/certifications and clearances to coach
  4. Conduct coaches training and meeting (prior and during season)
  5. Ensure open communication with the board, players, parents and volunteers.
  6. Make sure ALL clearances and training certificates are sent to the Secretary.
  7. Upkeep the Norwin LAX website and email distribution to players, parents, coaches, and board members.
  8. Manage all rosters with WESL/WPYLA and check the validity on the US LAX website by players and coaches. Send it to the Secretary when complete.
  9. Help Pres/VP’s with uniform organization and distribution.
  10. Attend regular scheduled meetings as part of the Board of Directors.
  11. Perform other duties as prescribed by the Board and the President.
