Purpose of the Role

The Board Secretary serves as the official record keeper of the Norwin Lacrosse Club (NLC). This position ensures that all Board activities, decisions, and communications are accurately documented, organized, and accessible to maintain transparency and compliance with the Club’s bylaws.

Note: The Secretary is responsible for record accuracy and governance documentation but does not vote differently or hold authority beyond Board norms unless specified in bylaws.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Keep minutes of Board and General Membership meetings and post to Google Docs
  2. Record all Club votes.
  3. Oversee the Spirit Wear Chairs
  4. Create WPYLA and WESL rosters and submit to appropriate contacts
  5. Coordinate Parent Meeting with the President
  6. Recommend all coaching requirements/training/certifications and clearances required to coach
  7. Ensure all coaching staff are current and up to date on clearances and required training. Coordinate this with the Coaches Coordinator.
  8. Create a roster for each team and distribute to coaches.
  9. Print Rosters and updates for the announcements for games binders.
  10. Perform other functions as prescribed by the Board and the President.
