Board and Chair Positions

2020 Norwin Lacrosse Club Board Positions

Our Board and Volunteer positions are listed below.  As you can see, WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Please consider volunteering for one of the positions below.  ALL POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE!!

Positions are a 1 year commitment, except President, which is a 2 year commitment.  To submit your name for a position below, Click here.  Submissions are due by JUNE 15th.  Elections will be conducted through Google Forms in June/July. 

President (2 years):
- Oversee operations of the entire Club.  Maintain website and make updates as needed. Secure practice fields and stadium dates.  Schedule and run Board Meetings.  Prepare meeting agendas.  Oversee entire registration process.  Coordinate Parent Meeting.  Set up Remind.com system.  Calendar time line with detailed instructions will be provided.

Vice President Boys:
- Assist President in all the above activities.  Fill in for President in his/her absence.  Coordinate Picture Night and Youth Night for Boys program.  Serve as the Club’s WPYLA representative and attend scheduled WPYLA Meetings.  Other duties as necessary.

Vice President Girls:
- Assist President and fill in for President in his/her absence.  Coordinate Youth Night and Picture Night for Girls Program. Serve as the Club’s WPSLA representative and attend scheduled WPSLA meetings.  Other duties as necessary.

Treasurer:
- Oversee and perform financial activities for the Club.  Complete non-profit, sales tax exemption and tax returns for Club.  Provide cost per player analysis.  Prepare running balance sheets, profit/loss statements and budget for Club for each Board Meeting.   

Secretary:
- Record minutes for Board Meetings and other meetings.  Post minutes to Google docs.  Track all coach clearances and training certificates. Prepare and submit WPSLA and WPYLA rosters by deadline.  Co-coordinate Parent Meeting with the President.

Head Coaches:

The Head Coach is responsible for team oversight, communication with Board/players/parents, player management, implementing team systems, developing individual skills, delegating tasks to assistant coaches and ready to create a positive experience for each player. It is preferred that applicants have current first aid/CPR certification. Prior playing experience is a plus and prior coaching experience is preferred, especially for the older age groups. Applicants must be current US Lacrosse members, follow NLC Code of Conduct and meet all US Lacrosse requirements/clearances in order to volunteer as a coach. Head Coaches are not permitted to hold other Board positions. If interested, please contact Chris Stiles ([email protected]). 

Elected Chairpersons:

Corporate Sponsor Chair:
- Coordinate and secure all corporate sponsorships for the Club.

Fundraiser Chairs (1 from Boys side and 1 from Girls side) :
Plan and coordinate annual Club fundraiser.

Spirit Wear Chair:
- Coordinate spirit wear for the entire Club.  Secure vendor, select spirit wear items and advertise to the Club.  Deliver spirit wear to parent volunteers.

Food Truck Coordinator:
- Coordinate Food Truck vendors for home games at the HS Stadium.  Meet Food Truck vendors at the start of game days.  Provide food announcement to Stadium announcer.  Collect Food Truck donation and give to treasurer.  Announce food truck vendor to the entire club.

Boys Scheduler:
- Schedule BOY'S games/clinics/tourneys, EMT's and Ref's. Coordinate with Girls VP and President to avoid conflicts. Complete schedule template and upload for parents to view.  Work with Girls scheduler to create a stadium master schedule with both Girls and Boys games. Confirm EMT’s and Ref’s prior to all Home Games.  Submit ref info to treasurer for payment.  Message Club with game cancelations.

Girls Scheduler:
- Schedule GIRL'S games/clinics/tourneys, EMT's and Ref's. Coordinate with Boys VP and President to avoid conflicts.  Complete schedule template and upload for parents to view. Work with Boys scheduler to create a stadium master schedule with both Girls and Boys games.  Confirm EMT’s and Ref’s prior to all Home Games. Message Club with game cancellations.

Equipment Manager:
- Track and manage Club equipment at the beginning and end of each season.  Coordinate goals being transferred from storage to field and back again. Deliver timers, etc. to stadium/field on game days (at the beginning of the day). 

Volunteer Coordinators (1 from Girls Side and 1 from Boys side):
- Collect volunteer fee from all parents.  Create volunteer sign up system for all volunteer slots.  Create volunteer sign in binder and forms to be kept at the stadium. Track volunteer "slots" Send out "remind" messages for volunteer requests.  Submit all volunteers to President for reimbursement of volunteer fee.

Marketing Manager:
- Create and monitor social media accounts. Advertise Club events/clinics on Facebook and other social media accounts.  Distribute registration signs at end of November.  Collect registration signs when registration closes. Market the Club and clinics to the school district (targeted flyers and digital email distribution).  Assist in coordinating Parent Meeting and Picture Nights by making signage for the events.

 
End of Season Banquet Coordinators (1 from Boys side / 1 from Girls side):

 Plan and coordinate season end event.  Recruit volunteers to assist in planning.  Work with BOD for budget.
